The program includes specialized courses that dive into the essentials of medical technology, healthcare procedures,
and patient interaction. Plymouth’s Medical Assisting Tech program doesn’t just teach you skills;

offices, thanks to their comprehensive training and real-world experience. Internship placements

Mrs. V makes her lessons interactive, ensuring her students remember what she is teaching. In medical assisting, you’ll do many competencies. During these competencies, you will assume the role of a medical assistant and Mrs. V will act as the patientwhile you practice performing a procedure ranging anywhere from taking blood pressure to administering medication in a professional setting. These competencies, along with Mrs. V’s unique teaching style, provides a strong foundation to medical knowledge, which will help you achieve any goals in the healthcare field.
Along with these hands-on skills, medical assisting provides students with job-ready skills. Students will learn about the very important aspects of healthcare, including patient interaction and medical terminology.
When asked what do students get out of medical assisting medical assisting teacher, Mrs.Vincenzi replied with “Medical knowledge is great, but the experience and critical thinking abilities that the students gain are worth their weight in gold…the simple ability to know how to converse with a patient will give them a leg up in their future in the medical field, The students in the MA program here are allowed to learn in a low-stakes environment where it is okay to feel awkward, make mistakes, and learn in the process”. Without a program like medical assisting, aspiring healthcare workers must learn everything through programs after high school, setting their career back by years. With medical assisting, you will receive your CMA (certified medical assistant) license before you graduate, allowing you to step right into the healthcare field. CO-OP opportunities vary and include places such as internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, occupational and physical therapies, vet clinics, school nursing, women’s health, wound care, medical spas, dermatology clinics, and more.
If something you are interested in is not listed above Mrs.Vincenzi has said she will help students to research and discover the perfect Co-Op for them. This program also teaches students how to do their job in the safest and most efficient way possible, allowing them to be valuable team members in a healthcare setting.
This program allows students to go right into the
medical field after graduating if they didn’t want to attend further schooling. If students did want
to continue their education after high school, medical assisting sets them up for success and gives them a baseline knowledge, which sets them apart while applying to college programs and allowing them to be further prepared than their classmates.
