Women’s rights is something that I feel is very subtly talked about. A lot of people don’t see the way women get treated differently in our world today. So something I like to ask is have you ever felt like you’re being talked down to because of who you are, what you look like, what you were born as? I know I have. Women still get paid less than men and it isn’t brought up enough because how are they going to take hard earned money away from women who most of the time work 10 times harder in the work industry to fit in and be heard. Sometimes it’s the little things that can be bothersome. Women’s rights are human rights! Women have always struggled with this since the beginning of time. Women have struggled to gain respect in multiple aspects in life: Politics, education and employment are all significant to people’s everyday life. Women have always done good things with the world. Historically they have fought for their rights to an education, to vote, rights to their own body and many more. These acts of sexism are affecting all ages too.
The only question is: Is there a solution to this madness? There is no way to change someone’s mindset. Some people were just born thinking women are less than men and that’s how they grew up. No matter how much you tell them that they’re wrong, they most likely won’t listen. So, talking about it constantly isn’t doing anything other than bothering people. Something I have noticed is people feed off of what people they look up to say and think. If we can get people of power (specifically men) thinking and funding for women’s rights then we can get more people on board with the idea. At the end of the day, I don’t think most things will end for women. There are chances we can fix the pay and work environments but we can never change the way some people view us. But we can always make the best of a bad situation. I think for now we should keep encouraging the women’s sports and Olympics and continue to enlarge the funding for women’s health and to end violence against women.
